If someone went in to watch this re-worked folk tale expecting to find Pixar quality, he’d be in for a Grimm disappointment. But if you knew that the stop-motion, Johnny Neutronicity was intended, you can get over it and start enjoying the story. For the first time ever I disagree with my movie-review guru James Berardinelli on his pronoucement that the movie seems to have been done “on the cheap”. What I do know is that Hoodwinked was made in the Philippines by some of the best Filipino animators. Yay!
