Weeeknd movies from the net
A solidly old-fashioned courtroom drama such as ”The Verdict” could have gotten by with a serious, measured performance from its leading man, or it could have worked well with a dazzling movie-star turn. The fact that Paul Newman delivers both makes a clever, suspenseful, entertaining movie even better.
This is as good a role as Mr. Newman has ever had, and as shrewd and substantial a performance as he has ever given, although it may not be his most entirely credible. Mr. Newman begins the story as a lonely, washed-up, pathetic has-been lawyer. Not exactly typecasting, and not the sort of thing he does terribly convincingly. Of course, his luck is about to change. Mr. Newman plays Frank Galvin, first seen drinking, playing pinball in the daytime and bribing funeral-home operators to let him pass his business cards to the bereaved, like a South Carolina injury lawyer. Sidney Lumet’s ”The Verdict,” watches him rise to an important challenge, shake off the cobwebs, resuscitate his law practice and fight furiously to help good triumph over evil. As nearmiraculous transformations go, this one’s not bad at all, considering the fact that it’s accomplished in only slightly over two hours’ screen time.
Suffering is optional
While it’s true the pain infidelity unleashes is devastating it’s equally as true that allowing yourself continuous suffering is optional. That’s according to Suzie Johnson on her website goasksuzie.com. It may be true that victims of infidelity always swear that they never saw it coming. I am more of the belief that they did see the signs of infidelity, but were either too scared or too proud to admit it. I say that from experience, both personal and from that of people I have had the privilege of knowing.
While it may be inordinately simple to catch cheating spouses, some people may actually be deathly afraid of doing so. Confirmation of an extramarital affair is much more serious and brings far more complications to a relationship that just the suspicion of. I remember the time when I had thought that the whole thing was my fault, that if I had been a better wife this wouldn’t have happened, that even if I had proven beyond doubt that the signs of a cheater which had been laid out right in front of me were all true it would still be my fault.
And it being my fault I would refuse infidelity support for my kids, once I had filed for annulment. There had been no offers and I never asked for any.
One thing I do know now, after I had been given a second chance at life, love and family, is that infidelity is never the fault of just one spouse. Happiness is something couples work at on a daily basis, and if infidelity finds its way into that calendar then there’s something very wrong with that schedule.
Tell me what you want what you really really want

This was hanging from the gate of a large house a couple of blocks away from where I live. Most of the houses in this subdivision formerly known as Baltao have now been turned into bodegas or boarding houses. I suppose this house was no exception. I took this picture more than a week ago, and when I passed by there again today on my way to work, I saw this sign had been replaced by the more generic “room for rent”.
I’ve seen signs that read “Wanted Female boarders for rent”. Now that’s more interesting, don’t you think.
CSI: Miami: Resurrection
They’re BACK!

Calleigh, Delko, Wolfe and syempre the entire CSI: Miami team is back (and if you believe Horatio’s dead I got a bridge to sell you, says Kuya Maui).
EZTV’s got it on Mininova so if you know torrents, you know what to do. More about this later.
My favorite CSI team is back and there’s nothing anyone can do about it. They’re flashy they’re beautiful and their episodes go over the top and that’s just the way I like it. I don’t watch TV to learn stuff, I got Google for that. I watch TV to be entertained (and sometimes just to lull myself to sleep). So to those who say that CSI: Miami is so jologs (Tagalog street word meaning “tacky”) compared to Grissom’s team, here’s something for you.
