Fairy Princess
This morning Maia decided that she would like her picture taken. Again. She put on one of the dresses I bought for her last Christmas, slipped her arms through her butterfly wings, wore her tiara and waved her magic wand.
LED
Once again, howstuffworks has enlightened me on what led lights are:
Light emitting diodes, commonly called LEDs, are real unsung heroes in the electronics world. They do dozens of different jobs and are found in all kinds of devices. Among other things, they form the numbers on digital clocks, transmit information from remote controls, light up watches and tell you when your appliances are turned on. Collected together, they can form images on a jumbo television screen or illuminate a traffic light.
Basically, LEDs are just tiny light bulbs that fit easily into an electrical circuit. But unlike ordinary incandescent bulbs, they don’t have a filament that will burn out, and they don’t get especially hot. They are illuminated solely by the movement of electrons in a semiconductor material, and they last just as long as a standard transistor.
I think the coolest led lights ever were Kit’s, the talking bondish car on Knight Rider.
Welcome Freshman! The UPCAT Qualifiers Mail has arrived!

Maui got his welcome email last Tuesday, Feb 24 2009. It contained all the instructions that he needed to follow towards pre-registration and enrollment. For qualifiers and recently resolved cases who have not yet received theirs, be patient. You will get it. Make sure you keep your doorbell on, or that someone is always home to receive the letter.
However when we tried to login to the online pre-registration site (http://freshman.up.edu.ph) , it would not accept Maui’s student number and pin. We sent off a quick email to fcasupport@list.up.edu.ph, and the very next day we received a reply. They were still waiting for the latest list of resolved cases. The deadline for online registration is 31 March 2009 anyway (30 April for UP Cebu), so there’s still time.
Congratulations to those who already have their Qualifiers mail!
Update: 9:47pm – Online confirmation complete!
Why auto insurance is important
According to ArticleBase , it is quite obvious to see why having auto insurance is very important.
- You are protecting your automobile, one of the largest investments you make in your life.
- You are able to pay for medical bills if an accident occurs.
- You don’t have to feel the biggest part of an accident-related lawsuit.
- Protects assets that you’ve worked hard for from being lost due to a lawsuit.
- Protects you from those motorists that may not have insurance of their own.
- Not only pays for accidents and weather-related incidents, but also pays for vandalism and theft.
- You know you are protected every single time you hit the road.
However, this brings about another point. It is very important that you review your insurance policy and make sure you understand all of it since every policy is different. Depending on a person’s financial situation, they may choose a certain type of coverage over another for a variety of reasons. This can be because they want to cut premium costs because they simply cannot afford higher coverage or another reason that they find they don’t need extensive coverage. These things should be considered carefully because you never know when one accident may be the event that causes you to lose many of your assets in order to satisfy the cost of a lawsuit settlement.
