A new iPad clone seems to be turning up with each passing day, and today we have the aPad iRobot tablet, which looks very similar to Apple’s iPad, though much smaller in dimensions.
The aPad iRobot runs Google’s Android OS, and it features a 7 inch touch screen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and a 16:9 aspect ratio.
Other features include integrated 802.11 a/b/g WiFi, a Google Chrome lite browser, support for email, word excel and PDF files, and it feature 128MB of RAM and 2GB or 4GB of storage.
There is also a microSD card slot which can take up to 32GB microSD cards, plus an integrated microphone and speaker, it is currently available from some sellers on TipidPC.com for around PHP 5,000.00.
Depending on the model you will see mixed reviews on the internet. On some models the battery runs out after an hour and a half, compared to the iPad’s vaunted 10 hours.
The aPad also does not support sim card installation on the unit, but it does have Huawei drivers if you can find some of the old 3G plugits. (Smartbro now runs on ZTE so a little doubtful if that will work). Am still trying to find out if the Globe and Sun plugits are on Huawei, and if so … he he he … stay tuned!
