This is how Chowking advertises its Salo Braised Beef on its website Chowkingdelivery.com. The price tag is at P241.00, and judging from the picture, it seemed plenty enough to feed two people.

This is what we got when we asked Chowking to delivery their Salo Braised Beef to our house, just a few minutes ago.

The container is as small as what they put their snack size mami orders into, and it was even only half full. Now if this is not false advertising I don’t know what is.

The most expensive Chowking Lauriat, the Chicken Supreme Lauriat, is pegged only at P182.

I called back Chowking delivery to check if the store might have made a mistake, but no–the customer service agent confirmed, after putting me on hold for a few minutes, that it was indeed how they delivered the Salo Braised Beef.

In short, this turned out to be a disappointing way to spend two hundred and forty-one pesos. And perhaps the only positive way to look at this is to consider it a stressful way to lose weight quickly.

Chowking umayos kayo! Ang mamahal na ng mga orders nyo, lumiliit pa ang mga servings.

  1. Hi there, John. Oh I called them. Talked to four different people from 98888. Eventually got to talk to the store manager who handled my order. She said she would interview the kitchen staff and get back to me. When she did she confirmed that what we got was indeed 13 pieces of beef, with a little less sauce to keep it from spilling, and it was the head cook who prepared our order. No, I don’t want a refund. After all Cris and I were so hungry already we ate it anyway. But I would like as many people as possible to know about this. Hindi na nakakatuwa ito.

  2. Good day guys! Hindi ako fan ng Chowking ha.. pero in fairness to them, mejo hindi yata nila fault un na mag iba ung presentation nun from the picture, dun sa actual. Kasi, sa Dine In (as shown in the picture) ung 13 pieces of meat na un, aangat tlaga kasi nga palapad ung Salo Plate, making the sauce spread out and making the meat stand out. Sa Delivery, ung packaging, parang tasa na makipot at pataas, making the sauce more visible than the meat. Look at the picture above, looking from the Cup-like container, slowly imagine pag ang naging lagayan nya is ung Dine-in Salo plate, you would imagine the meat stand out from the sauce. Kaya, hindi naman cguro tama na -blame ung Chowking kung hindi nila na-meet ung expectations nio. All of us have different expectations, pero hindi ibig sabihin na pag hindi un na-meet nung other end, means sila na ang mali, o sila na ang walang kwenta… it’s just that, it turned out na hindi natin nakuha ung inexpect natin. Have a nice day everyone! 🙂
