To the question “are diet pills safe” I suppose the layman’s answer would be “it depends on who is taking it and whether a doctor or health practitioner’s advice has been involved before taking them.”

I must admit having taken several fad diet pills at certain points in my middle-aged life, mainly to find out what they were all about, thinking they should be safe enough as they are available over the counter.

The last one I took made me irritable and cranky although it did do its job on making me lose my appetite. My irritability and crankiness however, probably made the people around me lose their appetites, which was not something I really wanted.

Bottom line is nothing beats exercise and a good diet. And oatmeal to cleanse. More about that in a later post.
