The MOA Eye, reported to be taller than the Wheel of Fate at Enchanted Kingdom, was patterned from the London Eye on the South Bank of the river Thames in England. As soon as it went up, comparisons between it and other huge Ferris Wheels appeared in various PR materials for the SM Mall of Asia where it stands.

Just to set the record straight, here are the actual measurements of the tallest ferris wheels in the world:

  1. The Singapore Flyer – 165 m (541 ft)
  2. Star of Nanchang – 160 m (525 ft)
  3. London Eye – 135 m (443 ft)
  4. Moa Eye – 55 m (180 ft)
  5. Wheel of Fate – 39.62 m (130 ft)

So while the MOA Eye may be the newest ferris wheel the world has seen, it certainly will not win any trophies in the height department.
