I took out the box cutters again yesterday, when the lens I ordered from a website in Japan arrived at my doorstep. It took a pretty roundabout trip to Davao City from Tokyo, Japan, passing by Cebu City and sitting quietly inside the post office there for a week.
But when it finally got here, I was so happy. It’s been a while since I’ve used my Nikon D7000 DSLR for anything except portraits, and I had been using the Canon s100 more for photowalks around the city. Then again it’s also been a while since I’ve gone somewhere where a tele can come in handy, which was also why I held off buying a new lens.
Then my son hinted that he would like to purchase my old iPhone3GS, which I was considering putting up for sale because I’d already upgraded to the iPhone5. I had been browsing this website selling second hand used lenses based in Japan and was quite interested, mostly because the lens they sell are all Japanese-made, not the latter Thailand-made ones.
In short, we made a trade, the iPhone for the lens.
Here are a few photos of the lens I got and a few sample shots from it on my D7000.
