up to date -- not!

For the past several days since ios 6.1.2 was announced I have been trying to update both my iPhone 3GS and my iPad 3 from ios 6.1 to the newer 6.1.2, but to no avail. Everytime I look it tells me that the software is up to date, even though I know it isn’t.

When I plug the device into iTunes, iTunes detects the new software required and asks to download it. However, when I do download it, the download itself is interrupted by a network problem. This has happened, on my home connection, at least 8 times now, per device.

Later today if weather permits I will go off to my favorite burger shop, have some coffee and fries and see if I have better luck with their lighting fast wifi.
