After that very disappointing experience with the shipper my aunt and I have been patronizing for the past 20 years, I decided to look around for a new one. I asked my closest friends who ship boxed stuff regularly from other countries into the Philippines and they listed a few trusted ones. It was going to take a while before I would get over that sad experience with BC. One of the names that stood out was Ship-Smart.
I know that stuff have gone missing from boxes shipped from abroad to the Philippines, especially from boxes of personal items. But to experience this loss from a company which we have trusted for more than three decades is greatly disappointing.
My aunt in the US has trusted Bayani Commercial from the time my eldest son was a toddler. Nothing has gone missing after dozens of boxes shipped from Kent, WA to Cebu, Manila, QC, Parañaque. But now, two valuable items were missing from the box I received.
I never want that to happen again, so the need to find a reliable and honest shipper was imperative. Ship-Smart’s feedback on their Facebook page was encouraging. I was also glad to find that they have offices on both the east and west coast of the United States. Ship-Smart handles items that are too small to be containerized on their own, and is actually perfect for shipping individual items like furniture, “care packages” and the Pinoy’s beloved balikbayan boxes.
I especially like the instant estimate tools (well not so instant, because you have to create an account before you can use it) on their site, which allows for several types of shipping arrangements.
Yes, Ship-Smart may be the next shipper I will be putting my trust in from now on.
