after the rush
Now that Christmas is over (in a few hours anyway) and this grand plan of an 11-day holiday has got a lot of people out of town, I figure it may be a good idea to foray into Divisoria again, something which Sam and I were not able to do at any time this year, or last year as well. There’s a particular store inside the 168 mall that has the latest replica football jerseys on sale. Not only that, the store also has team pins and other paraphernalia such as cellphone straps and lanyards in the colors and logos of your favorite European football teams. We plan to go day after tomorrow. It’s going to be a Saturday, which we hope will not be as crowded as other Saturdays prior to Christmas. I have other stuff on my list, mostly for the house, and hopefully I’ll be able to get all of them. Here’s hoping.
Order in the kitchen
I’m a bit of an extremist when it comes to organizing stuff in the kitchen. I’m either extremely orderly or extremely messy. This arrangement starts at the beginning of my vacation period (usually around Christmas week when everyone’s off from work) and lasts for about a couple of weeks. This is when I throw out a lot of old, useless and hardly used and rusting pots and pans and utensils, and boldly shop for replacements. It’s Christmas after all, just about the only time when I do have money to go out and buy stuff. Near the end of that two-week period I regress and eventually my kitchen ends up in a mess along with left over Christmas rhum cake.
But when you have enclume pot racks to help you keep everything in place, order in the kitchen is almost assured. They’re practical yet stylish, quite utilitarian too. The ceiling mounted enclume potracks are not only space savers, they’re dust busters as well, and rust-proof too.
The enclume pot rack are built to last a lifetime, with electroplated metal finishes instead of lacquered so they neither chip nor discolor. A history of French metal-forming equipment is at the hands of skilled craftsmen at the enclume factory.
Now if only I knew where to get one here …
The streets have eyes
GPS Tracking should be included in the features of any brand new vechile for sale. I’m sure that any prospective car owner will not mind paying just a little more for that new car as long as they have the assurance that should the car get jacked or is used without permission, they will be able to track it down with the latest resources available. GPS Tracking can also be a deterrent to potential car nappers, if they know that the chances of them being located immediately is a lot more than the usual average.
GPS tracking systems are ideal not only for business use but for personal requirements as well. While some may think it is a way to spy on a family member, it is also a means to quickly find a member of the family who may have befallen bad luck on a highway. On the other hand business owners who have a fleet of vehicles can easily monitor the whereabouts of every unit. With GPS tracking, all vehicular movements are visible to the fleet owner, thus making it easier to field calls and cut costs.
It would be good to have a GPS service that can be used for a wide variety of different purposes, including GPS theft tracking, fleet tracking, GPS auto tracking for teen drivers, and much more. A device that can track a person or object’s location both inside and outside buildings, and also track an object’s speed and work might seem to be the stuff of spy movies but in the practical world, this ability seems to be a looming requirement.
More memory, please
When I was a computer hardware noob I used to think that any memory module would fit into any motherboard. This was the time when a 2gb memory Upgrade was unheard of. Servers had 512 MB of RAM and things would be running smoothly. Back then I had been totally unschooled in matters of computer hardware upgrades and replacement. I thought that all boards were created equal and that they all fit into the same tower casing and that all parts would harmoniously work together in peace.
Now that I know better, I find that finding the right memory upgrade for any computer system is fascinating. I had learned the difference between SIMMs and DIMMs and the kind of motherboards that would accommodate them. I learned about pins (not the kind that holds your dress together) and chip counts (no, not the weight of the tostillo bag you can get at the grocery). And now that a 4GB Memory Upgrade is always a consideration when thinking of a computer for high-end graphics, getting 8gb memory upgrades for a desktop PC is not far behind.
Laptop memory upgrades were even trickier. There was a time when only a certain brand of memory would work on a certain brand of laptop. But as various manufacturers such as Micron, Samsung and Qimonda have gone into the manufacture of laptop memory compatible with a wider range of laptop brands, it is now easier for a laptop owner to boost his machine’s memory resources. Even newer machines on Windows Vista, which makes enormous demands on a system’s resources, as well as the 64-bit counterparts of Windows XP and Windows Server versions can now easily take advantage of memory upgrades. All one needs is access to the best providers of computer memory modules who make sure that the user gets the exact RAM module required by the machine.
